International Nanny Application:
How Does It All Work?

So you’ve got the interview for an amazing Nanny role. The dream job! You know you’ve got what it takes to be an amazing Nanny and you’ve got the training, qualifications and experience to back you up, but you’ve never worked internationally before! You’ve never been through a process like this; what’s it all going to involve?

Each recruitment agency is different and at The Australian Nanny Agency, we pride ourselves on recognising the unique nature of this process and are with you every step of the way. The rundown of the application, registration, interview and selection process for becoming an international Nanny includes:

Candidate Registration

Candidate Registration

This can be found on our website and must be completed to the best of your ability. Your cover letter, updated resume and recent photo will also be required. Be sure to include all relevant experience, references and any additional information that you feel will portray your unique personality and experiences.
Skype Interview with Recruitment Consultant

Skype Interview with Recruitment Consultant

If we feel your experience is sufficient to be presented to our clients, we arrange a Skype interview between yourself and one of our recruitment consultants. Our clients usually require a minimum of 3-5 years nanny experience, however equivalent professions will be considered, such as child care, teaching and extensive au pair positions, before you will progress to the consideration portion of the process.

Should both the candidate and the agency wish to progress, The Australian Nanny Agency conducts thorough checks of all your references, qualifications, blue card/Working With Children Check status. Should this all be satisfactory, you are then added to our database.
Notification

Notification

You do not have to keep checking back with us for available positions; you will receive notification from us when upcoming or newly registered positions are available to apply for. This will be via email and our Facebook page. If a position appeals to you and you feel you would be a good fit, you are welcome to apply.
Presentation to client

Presentation to client

When you have applied, The Australian Nanny Agency will present your documentation to the client. They will then make an impartial decision as to whom they believe will fit with their family and meet the selection criteria and a Skype interview is arranged between you and the family. In typical circumstances this is with the parents, however other associated and authorised parties may participate in the recruitment process.
Success

Success

If you are successful in your interview, The Australian Nanny Agency then liase with the client to commence the Visa process. This procedure is conducted by a third party; the agency simply provides necessary details and initiates the procedure.
Ready to go

Ready to go

Once all documentation has been submitted and you have been cleared, the client will book your flights to your destination and you are ready to go. It is advisable that you research the country you are headed to and pack accordingly.
