You probably have been thinking about hiring a nanny for quite a time now for different reasons.

Your family may be growing, you need to focus more of your time on a new business or your

work needs your full-time commitment. Whatever reasons you have, your decision of hiring a

nanny will have a huge change and impact on your entire family. Hiring a nanny is something

you have to think through carefully. To help you with your decision, here are some questions

you can use to evaluate your situation.

1. Are you ready to have someone else care for your children?

You will have to trust your nanny enough to allow them to take your place in providing

childcare. You may not be comfortable with the idea at first especially when you are

close with your children. You might hesitate that the nanny may not be the right choice.  Your children will

also have to adjust to a different person looking out for them. Ask yourself, am I ready to

trust someone to take care of my children?

2. Are your children ready for the change?

Your children will experience a huge adjustment when the nanny begins to care for

them. They might not be open to the change and will be hesitant to accept the nanny.

This is normal as children are bonded to their parents. Help your children with the

adjustments. Explain to them that the nanny will act in your place and that they obey the

nanny the same way they obey you.

3. Is your home spacious enough to welcome a new resident?

Yes, a new resident because your nanny will be occupying a room and will also be

utilizing some areas in the house. Your nanny must have her own space to feel that she

belongs. If you do not have enough space, you must discuss an arrangement with your

nanny. You might have to consider getting a stay-out nanny instead of a live-in one.

4. How much time do you have until the nanny becomes a necessity?

Your answer to this question will help you plan ahead of time. If you have decided that

you need a nanny, the sooner you start the hiring process, the better. Take into

consideration the three questions above and move forward with the process. Australian

Nanny Agency can help you with the entire process of hiring a nanny. We will guide you

every step of the way.

5. Can I afford a nanny?

If your answer to this question is a no, you are not yet ready to hire a nanny. Remember

that having a nanny is a huge financial responsibility. Your nanny’s pay is an additional

expense, so it is important that you check your finances before getting a new one.

These are some guidelines that can help you decide if you are ready to hire a nanny.

Every situation is different, you are the best person who can evaluate how necessary and how

urgent is it to have a nanny. Here at Australian Nanny Agency, we will help you with any

questions you have. By experience, hiring a nanny can be a great addition to the family. We are
