Our Commitment to Recruitment

Standards & Compliance

At Australian Nanny Agency, we take pride in providing families with professional, trustworthy, and fully compliant nanny services.
We understand that engaging someone to care for your children is one of the most important decisions a family can make.
That is why we strictly follow Australian laws and regulations to protect both families and candidates.

 Privacy & Data Protection

We are committed to protecting the personal information of both families and candidates.
Our practices comply with the
Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • What this means for you:
  • Candidate personal details (full name, address, phone number, referees) are never disclosed without written consent.
  • Only verified clients, progressing to interview stage, receive full candidate profiles.
  • All records are securely stored in accordance with APP 11 – Security of Personal Information.
  • Families and candidates may request access to their information at any time under APP 12 – Access to Personal Information.

Child-Safe Recruitment Practices

As childcare is at the heart of what we do, we follow strict compliance requirements in every state and territory.

  • Every candidate must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or the local equivalent:
  • NSW – Working With Children Check
  • QLD – Blue Card
  • VIC – Working With Children Check
  • ACT – Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration
  • We also verify First Aid, CPR, and Police Checks as part of our screening process.
  • These checks are handled in line with Fair Work recruitment guidelines and state-based child protection laws.

Equal Opportunity & Non-Discrimination

We are an inclusive agency and comply with Australian anti-discrimination laws, including:

  • Sex Discrimination Act 1984
  • Racial Discrimination Act 1975
  • Disability Discrimination Act 1992
  • Age Discrimination Act 2004

What this means for you:

  • Candidates are assessed and presented solely on their skills, qualifications, and suitability for the role.
  • Families can be confident that all placements are made ethically and fairly, with no bias.

Fair Work Standards

As an agency, we operate under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), which establishes the National Employment Standards (NES).

  • We ensure that roles we place align with lawful pay and employment conditions.
  • Families are provided with clear guidance on minimum standards and entitlements.
  • We do not support underpayment or unlawful work arrangements.

Honest & Transparent Recruitment

We believe trust begins with honesty.
That is why we follow the
Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010).

  • All job advertisements are genuine and reflect real opportunities.
  • We do not create “ghost jobs” or misrepresent candidate experience.
  • Families receive clear, upfront information about our terms, conditions, and fees before engagement.

Secure & Responsible Data Handling

Protecting your data is central to our operations.

  • All personal records are held in secure systems with restricted access.
  • Candidate compliance documents (WWCC, Police Checks, references) are verified but not distributed to families without consent.
  • We never sell or share personal information with third parties.
