About the Family

A family spending their Christmas and New Year holidays in Palm Beach is seeking an experienced, reliable and proactive housekeeper and cook to manage their daily household needs.

The family is looking for someone who can take responsibility for cooking, shopping and housekeeping, allowing them to relax and enjoy their holiday.

They require a capable professional who is organised, discreet, friendly and comfortable working independently in a private household.

Duties & Expectations

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
  • Plan meals, complete grocery shopping and keep the fridge and pantry stocked.
  • Clean and tidy bedrooms daily, including making beds.
  • Clean and refresh bathrooms, including showers, toilets and sinks.
  • Wash dishes and clean the kitchen after meals.
  • Maintain living areas and shared spaces throughout the day.
  • Manage household rubbish and general tidying.
  • Keep the entire home clean, organised and refreshed.
  • Anticipate household needs and manage daily routines independently.

Important: This is a comprehensive household support role covering cooking, shopping and cleaning, not simply a housekeeping or cleaning position.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in private household housekeeping, cooking or household management.
  • Confident preparing three family meals daily.
  • Excellent cleaning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Professional, reliable, discreet and proactive.
  • Strong references from previous employers.
  • Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.

Tips to Land This Role

Competition for Christmas and New Year holiday positions can be high. Make your application stand out by:

  • Highlighting your experience in private housekeeping, family cooking and household management.
  • Confirming your availability for all 9 days, from 26 December to 3 January.
  • Sharing your cooking skills, including the types of meals you confidently prepare.
  • Demonstrating initiative — the family wants someone who can manage daily tasks without constant direction.
  • Providing strong references from previous housekeeping or private household positions.
  • Stating your hourly rate, including any public holiday rates.
  • Applying promptly with a current resume and your best contact number.

Our tip: This family needs someone who can take care of everything from breakfast to dinner. Show us that you're organised, confident in the kitchen and capable of keeping a busy holiday home running smoothly.
