Power of a written reference and why they help you get your next role!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to todays tip. Today, I want to talk about something super important if you're applying for nanny roles: the power of a written reference.

In our fast-paced world, a written reference can make all the difference. It’s not just about a piece of paper — it’s a personal touch that gives families a glimpse into your personality, work ethic, and how you connect with children. When families see a genuine recommendation, it shows your previous family  cared enough to take the time to vouch for you. That little gesture can really set you apart from other candidates.

Whether it’s a simple text message, an email, or a formal letter, a written reference provides insight into your background and skills. It highlights your strengths, reliability, and the positive experiences you've had with previous families. Plus, it’s a way for families to feel more confident in choosing you, knowing someone else has trusted and appreciated your work.

When applying, it’s great to include references from the families you’ve worked with. These recommendations can speak volumes about your personality, how you handle different situations, and your dedication to caring for children.

So, my tip? Always ask your previous employers or families if they’re comfortable writing a reference for you. A heartfelt, well-written recommendation can open doors and help you land your next nanny position with confidence.
