Reference for Jess Chandler, nanny

Jess has been employed for 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, via contract, with myself, Kelsey Hendrickson, and my husband Byron Charalambous to care for our son, Lucas from April 2023. Lucas is just about to turn 3 at the end of April this year. We, very unfortunately, have to reduce the

number of days she is with our family due to a change in our financial circumstances.

During her year long tenure, and hopefully on-going work with us (just for 1 day rather than 3), Jess has been exemplary in her care, concern and love for our son. Lucas had some delay in his speech,

was a very fussy eater and quite shy socially, Jess worked closely with us and him to assist us in managing those concerns. Each day, Jess often has planned out activities and events for Lucas to do

that involve some social time. She is also flexible, working with Lucas and his interests and needs.

She is gentle and kind, yet firm when needed. Her and Lucas have developed a strong bond in their

year spent together thus far. I trust her to make decisions in regards to their day together and to be

present and available for Lucas.

Jess is also very communicative with Byron and myself throughout the day, sending lovely pictures

and keeping us posted on how Lucas is going. She’s been patient with our large dog, Tilly, who is an

active member of our household. Further, she’s an amazing help with doing a few small household

chores during the day including laundry and meal prepping.

Any family who works with Jess would be lucky to have her, she brings years of experience and

knowledge as both a nanny and a mom.

“Jess worked as my famlies’ nanny for 2 full years caring for my 1yo and 3yo./ She

is very responsible and because she is a mum herself, I felt very comfortable leaving

my children with her. She is very competent and would know what to do if anything

came up. Jess bonded strongly with my kids, particularly with the 1yo. She had a

great relationship with them. She is laid back, fun, mature and a happy, positive

person. She is calm and was really good with my baby. She was able to do follow

all my children’s routines and had structure to the day. She was firm when required..

Jess was always on time – this was one of what I valued most about her. I was

initially concerned that because she has a child herself she might need to take

take off if her son was sick etc, but Jess gets a lot of support from her parents so she

never had to do that in the 2 years she worked for us. Overall Jess did incredibly

well managing the children and I would really recommend her and still use her for

ad hoc babysitting.”

“Jess was employed as my nanny 3 days per week in 2017, assisting with care for

my 3 boys then aged 18 months, 4 and 6 years. Jess is someone I can count on,

she is very reliable, never late and also very accommodating and happy to stay

longer if I was running late from work. Jess are capable managing all 3 of my boys

at the same time on her own and was able to need their different needs based on

their aged. All 3 of my boys like her a lot. She is sensible, mature, friendly, eager. If I

left her a list of things to do, she’d get everything done. She is neat and tidy and

always had activities planned.

We never had any issues with Jess and we loved having her but we finished up

after 3 months when my youngest got a spot at daycare. Jess still does night

babysitting for us on occasions and I would definitely recommend her for other

families.”

Jess is a lovely, kind and laid back person. She has a wonderful nurturing nature,

being light hearted, easygoing and calm while friendly at the same time. Jess is

very switched on, captivating and enjoyable to be in the presence of. She clearly

has a passion for children; she smiles and her face lights up when she talks about

them.
